A Time To Decide

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

A time to be born and a time to die,

A time to plant and a time to uproot,

A time to kill and a time to heal,

A time to tear down and a time to build up,

A time to weep and a time to laugh,

A time to mourn and a time to dance,

A time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

A time to search and a time to give up,

A time to keep and a time to throw away,

A time to tear and a time to mend,

A time to be silent and a time to speak,

A time to love and a time to hate,

A time for war and a time for peace.”[i]

We are cognizant, that there is even a time when “Those who are smart keep their mouth shut because hatred is so prevalent.”[ii]  But we need, “Not point a finger trying to pass the blame.”[iii]  Because the time is NOW for us to realize that it is we ourselves who need to change.  Obviously, that is what time is for, to give us the opportunity to change and become more receptive to what is possible.

To fully appreciate the many times and seasons where opposing ideas and actions are necessary, and even required, is a lifelong commission.  But it a commission that becomes easier with time IF we DECIDE. DECISIONS take the frustration out of life and keep us from being caught up in the dilemma of, “What Do I Do NOW?” mentality.

The time to decide is always now. We can decide to take action or not to take action.  We can decide to love or not to love.  But a choice is made, regardless.  It is when that choice is actively made, instead of passively made, that we develop a sense of confidence to actively decided “What’s next?”  Over time, making active decisions establishes a confidence and courage to make larger, more substantial and consequential decisions.  And it is this process that builds wealth.  A wealth of knowledge, wisdom and resources that determine your future happiness, success and sustainability.

We all thirst for happiness, success and sustainability.  But we often fail to realize that “A Time to Decide” is the fundamental basis from which happiness, success and sustainability are erected.  When we passively decide to do nothing, or we actively decide to do something, even if that something is to be silent, we are establishing the foundation upon which our future happiness, success and sustainability are built!

But realize this, passively choosing to be silent is not the same as actively deciding to be silent.  That is because the first choice may simply be the result of cowardliness or fear while the second choice is the result of cognitive reasoning.

When you actively make “A Time to Decide” your cognitive choice, things will change in your life.  Because, obviously, once you have cognitively made a choice you have altered the course of nature.  Based on what your results are you can then cognitively choose another “Time to Decide.”  This may result in building up or tearing down, killing or healing, tearing or mending, etc.  Regardless, action, real wealth, i.e., happiness, success and sustainability are generated through active not passive choices.

So the next time you feel the urge to point a finger and blame someone else realize that it is you who needs to actively make it “A Time to Decide.”

  • Maybe you need to decide to save 10% of your income.
  • Maybe you need to decide to discover how recovering the cost of financing in your life can build the nest egg you are looking for.
  • Maybe you need to decide that money you have saved currently, but can’t access, is creating more happiness, success and sustainability for others than it is for you.

Whatever your passive choice is or has been, NOW is “A Time To Decide” ACTIVELY to do something about it so you can enjoy your life to the fullest in the future. If you don’t take the “Time to Decide”, you passively choose to let others manage your time and money.
